“book” is a paper project and a tribute to the piles of books we bring home, only to never open them again.

the set of five combines paper and thread for binding. different techniques were used, from japanese 4-holes binding to an adaptation of Midori style binding – where thread symbolizes restraint. the books were also rendered impossible to “read” through cutting techniques and paper placement. aside from the cardboard used for the covers, all the paper used is reclaimed from magazines, newspapers, or advertisements.

“book” is somehow a solution to forsaken books: they are little objects which are endearing to possess, but which literally cannot be opened or read.
